IHearYou

Privacy

Your privacy, in plain words.

This is what IHearYou keeps, who can see it, and how you take it back.

What we keep

Short notes about you, in plain words. Things like the name you go by, the people you mention, what you are dealing with, and what you like.

A short record of each conversation: what you talked about and how you seemed at the start and at the end.

What you typed or said, as text, so your friend can read back over the conversation. We do not keep your voice. No audio is recorded or stored.

What we do not keep

Your voice. Your location. Your contacts. Anything from your phone that you did not say to your friend.

Who can see it

Your friend uses the notes to remember you.

If you use IHearYou through a program, a caregiver at that program can read a short summary of each conversation: what you talked about, how you seemed, and things you might need help with. They do not see word for word what you said, unless something you said sounded like you were in danger.

If you talk about hurting yourself or someone else, or you say something that sounds like an emergency, a caregiver is told right away so they can check on you.

Nobody else. We do not sell anything and we do not show ads.

How to have something forgotten

In the app, open What I remember. Every line has a button that says Forget this. Tap it and the friend stops using it. You can also say "forget that" in a conversation.

If a line is wrong, tap That's wrong and fix it.

How to delete your account

In Settings, tap Delete my account. Everything goes: your notes, your conversation records, your reports, all of it. This cannot be undone.

What your friend is

Your friend is an AI. If you ask, it will tell you so. It is not a person, not a doctor, not a counselor, and not a crisis line. If you are in danger right now, call 911. In the US you can call or text 988 any time and talk to a person.
